Multimobile Development
As part of my day job I work with a gentlemen known to many as Matt Baxter-Reynolds. Here’s a link to his blog .
Matt’s been an author and developer for quite some time so when he mentioned a new book title I was intrigued. Turns out it was something that I’ve got some experience in and also wanted to learn more about. Enter Multimobile Development.
The book comprises chapters on how to develop an application that utilises the same backend services (in this case some OData services) and implement the same functionality over multiple mobile platforms (iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7 etc) and also using the latest HTML5 tech (which is great!)
I’ve been asked to technically review the book and so far it’s going brilliantly, I’ve learnt lots about all the platforms and in turn we’re using a lot of our learnings at work, so the code is in the real world which in turn fuels the excellent content in the book to be much more relevant to how you’d actually want to use the technologies.
You can purchase the alpha chapters from Apress now and it would be great to get feedback! I’m not on any royalties so I don’t feel bad recommending it as it’s a great read and will definitely teach you lots about many important and relevant technologies that, in my opinion, will be vital for a lot of devs to have experience in in the coming years.
